Update 2016

It is March 2016 and I am so happy to report that I am STILL fistula free!

It has come to my attention that my blog has helped a lot of women and I am just so happy about that.

I am currently working on my masters in social work at USC. I am hoping that with the knowledge I am gaining through this program, I can become an active social justice advocate for all of you.

If this is your first time reading this blog please know that I check it regularly and will be in contact with you if you contact me via email.

I have helped many women with post-op questions after they have their surgery with Dr. Margolis.

There is also a Facebook page for support :  Living With Obstetric Fistula

Dr Margolis can be reached at:  http://www.bapelvicsurgery.com

Thank you,

  1. Hi Sarah, I am 22 years old and believe to have a fistula after searching my symptoms. I’d love to talk with you sometime.. It’s a hard subject to discuss with family and friends.

  2. Hello Sarrah, I was diagnosed with Rectovaginal fistula and it happened due to my hysterectomy 4 weeks ago. I really loved your story and wanted to know if DR Margolis repairs these .. Do u know from your blog how many patients you have recorded to hona and what is the success rate??

    1. Hi there. I am not sure what Dr. M is capable of beyond what he has done for me. Every one is different and every fistula is different. I do suggest you reach out to him and his office for a consult. Are you in the area?
