It is March 2016 and I am so happy to report that I am STILL fistula free!
It has come to my attention that my blog has helped a lot of women and I am just so happy about that.
I am currently working on my masters in social work at USC. I am hoping that with the knowledge I am gaining through this program, I can become an active social justice advocate for all of you.
If this is your first time reading this blog please know that I check it regularly and will be in contact with you if you contact me via email.
I have helped many women with post-op questions after they have their surgery with Dr. Margolis.
There is also a Facebook page for support : Living With Obstetric Fistula
Dr Margolis can be reached at: http://www.bapelvicsurgery.com
Thank you for following me.
I just wanted to let you all know that I will be on the Dr’s Show for an update on my surgery.
Dr. Margolis and I will be on the show together. We fly to LA on 10/24 however, the show will be aired on a later date. Stay tuned.
I will be discussing my post op recovery experience, our Uganda trip, and my ideas on spreading the word on fistulas (help on writing a book or bringing this attention to the medical arena).
As far as the fistula goes… I am still healed… I am happy and I am living my life… Without that evil thing… I have been able to travel since healing… Here is a picture of me in the Azores!
In June of 2013 I graduated from UC Santa Cruz with a B.S. in Sociology. I am so very proud of this accomplishment. There were some ups and downs during this time.. I had a hard time focusing during a portion of school because of the two failed surgeries but, once I found Dr. Margolis and he promised to heal me, I saw the light.. and I conquered through it..
Just a quick update..
I was on the Doctor’s Show for an update. I am in just a snippet of the show but, at least it is something.. Below you will find the link..
All I want to do is spread the word.. And help other women out there who may be experiencing the same problem and feel alone..
Hello everyone and thank you for following me. I would like to update you on my life once again!
April 26th has come and gone. April 26th marks my 1 year anniversary since my fistula repair. I am so proud to say that I am still fistula free!! My life is perfect and I have no complaints.
I will continue to celebrate each year for the rest of my life. This anniversary is important to me more than anything being where I came from and where I plan to go.
I just wanted to update you on my life!
My 6 month anniversary has approached! I have been fistula free for 6 months and it feels amazing! I still cannot believe that I am healed. I am so thankful!
I am currently working full-time and I am still a part-time student at UCSC!
I could not do what I am doing now while living with a fistula. That fistula held me back from living my life for a long time. Never again will I allow something like that hold me back from accomplishing my dreams!
